Everyone loves a bargain. That feeling of getting something for nothing is one we all relish, and that is definitely the case with career mode purchases, especially strikers. It may be that you overlooked this crucial area of your team when buying players, it may be that you just need cheap backups or perhaps you just don’t have a lot of money to begin with. Either way the players listed below offer a great mix of value for money, with potential for growth giving you a great sell on value. They are perfect if you are in a lower league, or struggling in one of the top leagues.
Lads from France feature highly on this list as, just like in real life, Ligue 1 offers great value for money. Maupay is a young forward who starts off with a 63 rating. He has lightning pace to begin with that only improves and is very agile. Not a natural finisher by any means, his quickness and movement will ensure he gets in the right pace so often, and carves out that many chances for himself, that even if he only converts 25% of them he will still bag a lot of goals. He is only 16 at the start of career mode and has the potential to grow to reach at least 82.
Another French prodigy, Benzia is a more complete player than Maupay. Still only with a 67 rating to begin with, he relies less on pace and more on his technique and fantastic dribbling skills. Still a teenager at 19, Benzia can reach at least 85 and is a fantastic all round player. He can finish. Dribble, is a threat directly from set pieces and has a deceptively good leap. Over time he grows into the ultimate complete forward.
With a lowly starting rating of 61 Schrivers is best deployed in the lower leagues if he will be starting week in week out. However his progression is rapid and if you stick with him you will see both his ratings and value climb dramatically. He will easily reach 86 and we have sold him for close to 38 million pounds. His physical attributes will be his biggest asset, but because his shooting attributes are lower they will increase quicker. Very soon you will have a quality young forward who is just as adapt at playing the number 10 role as the number 9.
A player very much designed to achieve your short term goals; Shelton is in the prime of his career. At 27 years of ages do not expect him to grow much beyond his 70 rating. That isn’t important though as he has all the attributes you need to fire you to promotion, or keep you up in your 1st season. His sprint speed and acceleration are both in the high 90′s and although his dribbling and finishing are modest, he still has more than enough to do the job at a lower level.
One of our cheapest options on the list, this young lad will not grow to be a world beater. What he will do however is be available dirt cheap and score you lots of goals in a lower league. Rated 66 to begin with the 20 year old is by no means a lost cause and can reach 78-80 is pushed. Use him for a couple of seasons to score you the goals you need to challenge at the top, then cash in on him when his form is good to achieve a hefty profit.
The final name on our list is a fantastic goal scorer who can be found in the Brazilian league. Very quick over the first 5-10 yards and with more than adequate dribbling and finishing to bag plenty of goals and assists, Jobson can do a very good… well…JOB! Also deceptively good in the air he is the perfect complete forward if you’re on a budget and his 72 rating can climb as high as 77. The perfect Championship striker.
