Lets put the cards on the table, Burnley is one tough challenge. The squad needs to be tweaked a lot if your are to succeed and careful thoughts must go into tactics and signings.  A limited budget can be stretched to fir your needs, but a frugal approach is key.

Really you need to strengthen all over, so any decent players will be welcome. The first thing to do though is move on some deadwood. Get young players out on loan, or if you do not think that they will cut the mustard, sell them for a little extra cash. We will be conservative and say that you will manage to raise an extra million in transfer funds, without decimating key areas. You may however be able to get more. Vokes, Marney and Ward could be top of your selling list.

Next up get Danny Ings to sign a new deal. He is your golden goose. quick and clinical, he is perfect for playing on the break, which you will need to do. He can get between 15-35 goals and is young enough to develop into a quality player. I sold him on in January of the second season after a total of 51 goals, for a cool £17.5 million.

That being said though you will need more options up top, and out wide. We would look to target the following players.

ST-Joao Plata
The little man is only 22, and quicker than Ings! He is perfect if you do want to play a partnership, or as back up. Also very good when deployed from out wide. Can be purchased  for 2,500,000.
RW-Serge Gnabry
The Arsenal winger is one of the games best bargains. Lightning quick and with loads of potential it is amazing they will sell him for just 975,000! Get him in as a must have to add loads of pace. Deploy him from the left and get him cutting inside to add more goals. If you decide to play with a big man up top then get him on the right providing crosses.
RM- Joel Campbell
Another great bargain, he can be picked up for 2,000,000, he does have a big wage though. If you can bring others in to make do then definitely target him in January when his contract is at 6 months.
ST- Troy Deeney
If you do need a big man, then look to the Watford star. He can be purchased for around £4 Million, but do not spend this much. Look to offer up £2 Million plus Sam Vokes and you may have some joy. We certainly did.
LM-Adnan Januzaj (loan)
A great option, again on big money wages, is the Old Trafford wonderkid. He will add loads of quality to hurt teams from out wide, and will be perfect to dovetail with a pacey striker like Ings.

After that the defence needs more options. We have suggested players in the full back and centre half positions that will improve your chances of staying up, and creeping up that league table. They will also allow you to soak up pressure and then hit teams on the break.

LB-Hong Chul
The Young Korean starts off 69 rated, but will be at 70 within 3-5 games. So play him in pre season. You can pick him up for between 750,000 and 1 million. He is not the best at tackling but is lightning quick, and great going forward. will chase players down if they get in behind, and can offer you 10 or more combined goals and assists in the season.
CB-Kurt Zouma (loan)
If you can free up the wages, make a loan move for the Chelsea man. He will operate very well alongside Shackell, and will develop well. The only problem is he is not your player, and he is on 40,000 per week. However this is about survival and building a foundation.
CB-Niklas Sule
One of the best young centre backs on the game, his 72 overall will instantly get him in the first team. He will develop into the 80′s and will cost about £2.5 million to start. We have sold him on for 10 times that down the line.

A few midfield players will also help with this side. Strong central players are needed as well as some creativity. These are who we targeted.

RM-Leon Goretzka
Although a wide man by position, this young lad has all the attributes to play centrally. Perfect on the right hand side of a tight midfield three.  Great all round ability and with bags of potential.
CDM-Nampalys Mendy
A good strong central midfield player, who can get about the pitch. Perfect when looking to soak up pressure and close down opponents. will cover very well if you do send men forward, and he can grow to 80 overall.
CM-Jordan Ferri
This lad is a bargain at about £1.5 million. He is more of a creative player, and at 22 can grow to be very talented. If sold while in form also, you can see yourself turning a massive profit. Will do the business on the pitch though carving out openings for your forward men.

Once you have done this you need to fit your tactics together and set up your team sheet. We have assembled a strong first team, but who you have will be dependent on your ins and outs. This is very subjective with a lower ranked team, as you may have sold big names to raise extra cash.We will be playing a 4-3-3/4-5-1, looking to hit teams on the break after drawing them onto us.

RCM- Goretzka/Jones

If you play it smart, and use your player instructions correctly to fit the strengths of your key men, this can easily do the business in the Premiership.

In terms of a second string it will depend on who you sold to raise cash, and if you have sacrificed a few good sqaud players. There are lots of option though and chances are you will find yourself playing with lots of forward men on the bench so i would play a 4-4-1-1 with a CF just off the main striker. This will ensure game time.

However we would advise saving some cash for a few academy scouts. Developing these will be important for future funds, and also those squad players next season. So you may want to fit your tactics to suit them, more than you would at a bigger team.
